1. Who we are
Project Rocky is operated by Craig Lindner, an individual in Hawaii, United States ("Project Rocky," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use rockyaloha.com and related Project Rocky services (the "Service").
2. Information we process
Account information
When you create or use an account, our authentication provider processes identifiers and sign-in information such as your email address, account ID, verification status, and session information.
Rocky questions and responses
We process the category and question you submit so the Service can generate a response. We do not intentionally store the raw text of your Rocky questions in our own account database. The input and generated response are processed by our AI and infrastructure providers to deliver and protect the Service.
Usage and security information
We process information such as daily usage counts, plan and entitlement status, approximate request time, IP address or network-derived security signals, device or browser information, and anti-abuse verification results. This helps enforce allowances, prevent fraud and automated abuse, diagnose errors, and keep the Service reliable.
Subscription and transaction information
If you purchase Rocky Plus, we receive subscription and transaction identifiers, product or price information, subscription status, billing-period dates, and a customer identifier from Stripe. Stripe Managed Payments processes payment details as merchant of record, and purchases may be presented as sold through Link. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Communications
If you contact us, we process your email address and the information in your message so we can respond and keep an appropriate support record.
Creator applications and referrals
If you apply to the Project Rocky Creator Circle, we process the name or creator name, email address, platform, public profile URL, approximate audience range, application message, consent time, application status, and personal referral code you provide or receive. We also keep aggregated counts for creator-page visits, application steps, share actions, checkout starts, and confirmed subscription referrals. Referral and campaign codes may be stored in your browser and sent with checkout so we can attribute a confirmed subscription. Creators do not receive customer identities or payment information through this system.
3. How we use information
- Provide Rocky responses, accounts, subscription access, and daily allowances.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts.
- Process purchases, cancellations, entitlement updates, and refund support.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, security incidents, and service disruption.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
- Review creator applications, contact applicants about the Creator Circle, issue personal share links, and measure creator-program results.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
4. Service providers
We use service providers to operate Rocky. These currently include Cloudflare for hosting, security, and anti-abuse services; Clerk for account authentication; OpenAI for AI processing; and Stripe Managed Payments for checkout, subscription billing, applicable indirect-tax handling, fraud prevention, disputes, and transaction support. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments for the functions they provide to us.
5. Cookies and local storage
The Service and its providers may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies that are necessary for sign-in, security, abuse prevention, session continuity, checkout, basic site operation, and first-party referral or campaign attribution. We do not use Rocky account information to sell targeted advertising.
6. How we share information
We share information with the service providers described above as needed to operate the Service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate fraud or misuse, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information for money and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7. Retention
We keep account, entitlement, usage, transaction-reference, creator-application, referral, security, and support information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including providing the Service, reviewing and operating the Creator Circle, maintaining financial and security records, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and provider. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we control by emailing support@rockyaloha.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to receive a copy, restrict or object to processing, or appeal a privacy-request decision. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may manage subscription cancellation separately through Link or by contacting support.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. Payment details are entered through Stripe's secure checkout and are not stored by Project Rocky. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please use care when choosing what to submit.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
11. International processing
We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, providers use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
